Com sempre, Nokia va per davant en tecnologia punta, potser el seu problema és que patenta i mostra tots els seus prototips... i per tant la copia és inevitable. Tecnologia i innovació sembla que finalment s'uniran a l'estètica, un concepte, que no ha estat mai la seva pedra filosofal.
Aquí us deixo una traducció d'un text de FayerWayer explicant el futur dels mòbils.
A Nokia li agrada mostrar-nos el futur. Fa temps ens van mostrar el Aeon, que era bàsicament un mòbil normal amb disseny futurista i una gran pantalla tàctil en la seva superfície. Però aquesta futurologia va arribar més ràpid del que esperàvem i per tots costats van aparèixer telèfons futuristes amb pantalles tàctils. Així que van decidir anar més lluny encara.
Investigadors del Nokia Research Center al costat d'acadèmics de la Universitat de Cambridge en el Regne Unit estan presentant el concepte nanotecnológic Morph. Ells estan posant les bases de la nanotecnologia. Diuen que gràcies als nanomaterials, les nanofibres i nanoestructures, els nostres dispositius mòbils del futur seran molt més flexibles. Podran canviar de forma per a ajustar-se millor a la tasca requerida, seran transparents, amb superfícies autonetejadores i obtindrien la seva energia del sol.
Això no és tot. Els investigadors van volar més encara. Creuen que els equips fins i tot tindran sensors que van més lluny que els sensors de llum o so ambient d'equips actuals. Segons ells, aquests equips fins i tot podran olorar o “analitzar els compostos químics de l'aire”. T'imagines que el mòbil no et passi trucadess des de l'oficina quan t'asseus a provar el nou bong del teu amic...? Encara que també pot servir per analitzar la qualitat de la fruita que estàs a punt de menjar, com suposa el video. No tenim cap dubte, que és un somni, de totes maneres resulta molt útil l'exercici — així com qualsevol proposta conceptual — és que els lliura un pla del tipus de tecnologies que han d'investigar i desenvolupar. Cosa que ja han començat a fer conjuntament amb la Universitat de Cambridge. Des d'ahir i fins al 12 de Maig es pot veure aquest concepte exposat en el MoMA de Nova York, però per a la resta dels mortals, què millor que veure'l per internet.
